The first poems from (what will be) my second full collection are due to be published very soon in The Rialto and The Lighthouse Literary Journal.

Meanwhile, my first full collection won the Michael Schmidt Award for Best Portfolio at ManMet. Additionally, a poem from that collection was highly commended in this year’s Forward Prize and will appear in the Forward Book of Poetry 2018.

Over the next couple of Saturdays, I will be running workshops from my At or Below Sea Level Project at Ingoldisthorpe and Stretham. A further workshop will take place in September at a local secondary school as part of the King’s Lynn Poetry Festival. The festival itself takes place over the weekend of the 22-24 Sept and I will be reading on the Friday evening. Details are available here: http://www.lynnlitfests.com/Welcome.html

Exciting Start to the Year

The first half of 2017 has been an exciting one: I’ve been commended in both the Magma Editors’ Competition and Ver Poets’ Prize, I also won First Prize in the Ver Poets’ Prize and Third Prize in the Cheltenham Festival Poetry Comp, I was accepted onto the Ledbury New Writers’ Programme and I was also fortunate enough to receive an Arts Council England Grant for the Arts to fund research for my second full collection. I feel privileged to have been included in Poem Magazine‘s ‘Women on Brexit’ issue, lanuched at the House of Commons in June 2017. I’m extremely grateful to my publishers Sharon Black and Sarah Miles and to the feedback groups to which I belong. Glass won Best Pamphlet at the Saboteur Awards and there’s also some exciting news surrounding Sightings (news to be revealed later this summer); I’m also hugely appreciative of Arvon/Jerwood and Mona Arshi who mentored me for 12 months on the Arvon/Jerwood Programme.
